A wallet switches to read-only mode primarily due to one of the following reasons:
The app is in a state immediately following a cloud or local backup restoration.
Only the wallet address was entered during the initial wallet selection upon startup.
Since a wallet address is public information that anyone can obtain, you must enter your seed phrase or private key to regain transaction and transfer authorities. Please restore your wallet using the appropriate steps below, depending on how it was originally created.
1. If the Wallet Was Created via Apple ID, Google Account, etc.
If the app is in a state immediately following a backup restoration, you can recover full access by following these steps:
App Settings > Multi-Wallet > Add Wallet
On the wallet selection screen, select the icon of the account you previously used (Google, Apple, etc.) to restore it.
If the restoration is unsuccessful, delete the wallet using the steps in section 2 below, and then try again.
Note on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If you had set up MFA, you may be asked to confirm your pre-configured recovery share during connection. If you have lost or forgotten this information, search for "Web3Auth" in your email inbox to check if any recovery instructions were sent to your email address.
2. If the Wallet Was Imported Using Only the Wallet Address
It is impossible to regain full wallet authority from this state without providing private key information. You must delete the read-only wallet and restore it using the correct method.
How to Delete a Wallet:
App Settings > Multi-Wallet > [Select Target Wallet] > Gear Icon (top right) > Delete Wallet
After deletion, select the original method you used to create your wallet (such as importing a seed phrase or logging in with a social platform account) to properly restore it.
