Avacus introduces a system that allows users to easily access the Web3 world using their existing Web2 service accounts (Google, Apple, X, etc.).
What is Web3Auth (Linking Platforms and Wallets)?
Web3Auth is a technology that secures and generates the private keys essential for crypto wallet management by linking them with the social login accounts users use daily.
Normally, when using a Web3 app, users must strictly record and manage a 12- or 24-word seed phrase (or private key) themselves. If this is lost, access to the assets is gone forever.
Web3Auth adopts a non-custodial infrastructure that splits and manages this private key. Fragments of the key (shares) are distributed across your logged-in social account, your local device, and the network. Simply by logging in through a familiar method, these pieces seamlessly combine in the background to enable wallet operations.
Nature of Social Login Accounts
When users sign in with a Google or Apple account, the created wallet becomes tightly bound to that specific platform account.
Account Uniqueness
Logging in with the same Google account will always grant access to the same wallet address. However, logging in with a different platform (e.g., an Apple account) will generate a completely different, new wallet address.
Management Authority of the Support Team
Avacus does not hold any data regarding user social account passwords or the private keys managed by them. Therefore, if a user loses access to the social account itself, it is impossible for the support team to recover the wallet or migrate it to another management method.
If You Forget Your Recovery Method After Changing Devices...
Search for "Web3Auth" in the inbox of the email address associated with your account, and check if you have received any information required for recovery sent from Web3Auth.
